Chevron Information Technology Co. - San Ramon, CA
I actually moved from Aramco to Gulf shortly after Chevron bought Gulf in late 1984.
I wanted to work in their office in San Francisco. They wanted me to work in Louisiana tying together Chevron and Gulf communication facilities. I had done work for both companies when at Auto-Comm in Louisiana. I did this for about nine months and then moved to San Ramon, CA.
The group I was working with moved from San Francisco to San Ramon right at the time I was finishing up work at Gulf. Glady got a transfer from Aramco to Chevron. We stayed in San Ramon for sixteen years.
I worked in a number of different jobs during my time at Chevron. Here are a few: standards design team member, supervisor of a Federal Communications Commission licensing group, financial cost-cutting team, network re-engineering team and in a UNIX operations, design & support team.
