St. Joseph's Seminary - Covington, LA
From the ninth grade to the middle of my senior year, I attended St. Joseph's. It was a boarding school. Most of the students were from New Orleans, Baton Rouge or the surrounding areas.
It was an excellent college prep education. I could have gone on to college in the middle of my senior year, but chose to attend my last semester at Bogalusa High and have fun.
This is where many people first started calling me "birdshit". I was in to things off-the-wall, irreverent or uncommon. Guess I was a teenager.
At that time, St. Joseph's had four years of high school and two years of college. It was intended primarily for future priests. However, I think only about 2 out of 100 ninth graders made it all the way. I don't think I ever really wanted to be a priest. I just wanted to be on my own.
Today St. Joseph's is a private college.
